We will be running our trains this Sunday. We run on the first and third Sunday in the month on our permanent track at The Grange Community Centre at Hurworth from 10am until 12.30.We are not sure which engines to use as some of our members have been buying some new ones, one of which, none of us has seen yet. These are electric but we will also be using steam engines as well. We have a limited number of passenger trucks so we will probably be swapping them around to allow people the experience of riding on different trains.Hope to see you on Sunday.Mick ... We are running our trains this weekend. We will be running from 10am until 12.30 on Sunday 19th Jan. We shall have electric and steam engines on the track. We will be running an engine called "Gert" which has taken our members just over 8 months to refurbish. It was bought by one of our members as a part refurbished project and he made a new boiler, fully intending to complete the job but he got sidelined by other projects and eventually donated it to the club.On first inspection it looked in good nick but after a few problems presented themselves, it was clear that it required a full strip down. (Nothing to do with our member who had not even started the repairs). We decided on a healthy budget and proceeded with the work which was quite extensive. We have just completed all of the paperwork for the tests which have been carried out and other than a quick spin around the track after its steam test, this Sunday will be its inaugural outing on our track and the first time pulling passengers.Come and give it a try.Mick ... All hydraulic and steam tests are complete and it is simply a matter of getting all of the signatories in place to complete the paperwork. ... See MoreSee Less
