We are a small club with about 30 members and any new member can be sure of a warm welcome, membership is open to anyone with an interest in the building or running of Model Engineering type models and equipment. The full annual subscription is payable by those over 18 years.
We do not operate any age restrictions and have three classes of membership - Junior, adult member and Family. A junior becomes a adult member at 18 years. We must emphasize that although we do not operate any age restriction, junior members are expected to be accompanied by a responsible adult until they have proved themselves to be responsible.

Membership brings the benefit of:
- In house Boiler testing
- Insurance cover for use of boiler tested locomotives on the track
- Route to insurance for steam road models (boiler tested)
- Use of club facilities
- Say in club pursuits
- Access to like minded friendly people
- Recive the minutes of meetings and newsletters
- Invitations to other club open days.
Facilities
In addition to the track we have a workshop in the basement of the Centre, which contains machinery of a larger capacity than that found in a home workshop and we find this useful for instruction and giving advice for beginners in the use of various machine tools, as well as enabling us to carry out the maintenance and manufacture of items for the Society's tracks. We also have a well stocked library of Model Engineering Magazines and Books.
Meetings
We meet on a regular basis on Tuesday nights starting around 7:30pm and run the locomotives on the track on the first Sunday of the month and the third Tuesday afternoons weather permitting. However, times and days tend to be varied to suit any special occasions.
Exhibitions
We exhibit on our stand at the Annual National Model Engineering Exhibition at Harrogate (which is held in May) and then at other exhibitions as the opportunities arise.
